This genuine Aprilaire 501 Filter, is the replacement filter used in the Aprilaire model 5000 Air Cleaner. These filters are factory fresh from the Aprilaire manufacturing facility in Wisconsin. The Aprilaire model 5000 air cleaner was also sold under the Spacegard name as well as the Research Products name. The Aprilaire 501 Filter Replacement Media removes up to 99% of pollen, mold, spores, dust and other airborne allergens from your air. This replacement filter for the Aprilaire 5000 will also remove up to 95% of tobacco smoke and smudging particulates. Because this is a genuine Aprilaire filter media replacement, it features Aprilaire's patented SelfSeal to ensure a proper seal and easy installation. The Aprilaire 501 filter has a MERV 10 rating. The nominal dimensions of this filter are 16x27x6 when installed. This filter should be replaced annually. The frequency of change will depend on the size of your heating and cooling equipment as well as the conditions in your home. People who smoke, have pets, or recently completed home renovations should change their filter more frequently. This is a genuine Aprilaire replacement filter (note the correct spelling is Aprilaire, and not April Air, April Aire or Aprilair). In the factory packaged box you will receive the following: 1- Permanently installed metal frame that assembles in minutes without tools, 1- Aprilaire model 213 MERV 13 Media filter which will replace your old style Aprilaire 201 filter or any other filter that you have been using in your Model 2200 or Model 2120 air cleaner, and 1- Door Spacer which may be required depending on the date that your air cleaner was manufactured as well as the door style your unit has. Use of the upgrade kit and it's 13 MERV filter will yield a 65% improvement in air filtration, according to Aprilaire.
