Car Amplifiers

Car Amplifiers Wow I finally had my first set of wheels and I was mobile for the first time in my life so I went cruising. With the wind in my hair I drove here there and everywhere but I just couldn’t get into the groove there was something missing. I thought about it and it came to me as a car cruised by with an awesome sound system. Music that’s what I was missing I needed to check out car amplifiers and find me something that was going to pump it out so I could cruise in style. I had a look on line and there were so many car amplifiers there with different features, I had to separate them so I wrote down what to look for in car amplifiers to make the choice easier to make.

What to look for when buying car amplifiers:

1.    Channels – each channel in car amplifiers need a speaker attached to maximize their existence so maybe work out how many speakers that you want/can afford before you work out how many channels in the car amplifiers that you are interested in buying. They vary quite a bit so it is well worth looking at so that you don’t get caught short when you go to attaché your speakers;

2.    Watts – watts in car amplifiers are the amount of power that they have to pump out the sound so the lower the wattage of the car amplifiers the less volume you will get out of them. It is worth remembering that car amplifiers have a lot of ambient noise to compete with on the road – the car engine, traffic noise and everything else in the environment you are passing through. You don’t want your tunes swallowed by the ambient noise if you know what I mean you want to be able to hear it clear and without distortion or interference;

3.    Mono or stereo – this is a bit of a no-brainer but I thought I would add it anyway while we are talking about car amplifiers and the different things to consider when you are buying them Are you looking for stereo or mono – important question and make sure you check the specs before you buy because there is a huge difference in the sound you get at the other end;

4.    Easy access controls – only look at car amplifiers that have controls that are easy to access once it is mounted so that you adjust it easily and don’t have to crawl under the dash to find the controls to adjust the volume for instance;

5.    Inputs – what sort of inputs do the car amplifiers that you are interested in have? Do you just want to be able to plug and play your mp3 player or do you want something more solid. There is a lot of variety so keep this in mind when shopping for car amplifiers and tally up the units and their types (taking into consideration their plug type) before you finally choose from the range of car amplifiers;

6.    Size – it’s a good idea to measure the size of the space before you shop for car amplifiers rather than finding that it is too small when you go to install it after you have purchased. Map out all of the components that you will need and where you want them so when you go shopping for car amplifiers you know exactly what you need;

7.    Subwoofer – do you want a subwoofer in built in to the car amplifiers that you look at or are you planning a separate unit remember that you have limited space in a car unlike a system for your house. Or maybe a subwoofer isn’t important to you and you don’t need to consider it;

8.    Brand Name – we like to pretend that it doesn’t matter but I always like to choose a well-known brand name when I am buying goods like car amplifiers. I wont mention brands here because that’s no what it is all about but for me I like to know that the folks that made the car amplifiers that I choose are experts in their field and don’t usually make washing machines if you get my drift;

9.    Regulations – car amplifiers are electrical goods and I want to know that any unit that I buy meets any minimum regulations for car amplifiers. Fires in cars are serious business no matter how small so I want a unit that is well made to minimize any risk from electrical shorting and other associated issues;

10.    Warranty – always look at car amplifiers that have a decent warranty included in the price. In case something goes wrong you want to be covered to either have the unit replaced or fixed at no cost to you when it is new or near new. It is also worth checking out if the seller provides any support on the purchase once you have it.

So I hope this information helps you when you are out and about looking for car amplifiers for your wheels. Of course there are a lot of other things that you need to take into account for the final sound of your sound system. Stereo, speakers and any other goodies that you want to add on so you can crank the music as you cruise. So go and shop for car amplifiers knowing exactly what you want and happy listening – and cruising!
